BookMyShow is India’s largest online entertainment ticketing platform, owned by Bigtree Entertainment Private Limited. It operates in more than 215 countries and destinations. BookMyShow has over 30 million users and allows them to book tickets for movies, events, plays, concerts, and sports matches.

If any issues arise regarding the booking services, customers have the option to file a complaint with BookMyShow’s customer support team. Want to complain? You may call using the available customer care number, send an email, or chat with executives.

Major issues can be:

  • Events and Tickets: Challenges in booking tickets for various events, including concerts, movies, premieres, plays, and sports matches.
  • Additional Services: Problems arise in booking tickets for events, navigating food and beverage services during events, and using BookMyShow gift cards.
  • Payment and Booking Process: Issues related to payment, BMS Cash and Cashbacks, coupons, and refunds including unauthorized charges and failures, along with problems in cancelling bookings for events or tickets.

Not resolved to your satisfaction by BookMyShow? You can escalate the complaint to the appointed Grievance Officer, BookMyShow with the support ticket number.


How to File a Complaint of BookMyShow?

According to the customer service policy defined by the BookMyShow, the resolution mechanism is divided into 4 levels. Initially, you can complain to the customer support team. If not resolved, escalate the matter to the next authority.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism:

Registration Fee No Charges (₹0)
Redressal Time Within 24×7 or up to 15 business days
Cancellation/ Refund Period Up to 7 business days (Read the booking policy of BookMyShow)

Levels of Lodging Complaint:

  • Level 1: Register your complaint to Customer Service, BookMyShow (may take 3 days)
    • Toll-free number (if available)
    • Email
    • Complain Online or Chat
  • Level 2: Escalate the case to the Head of Customer Service (may take 2 days)
  • Level 3: Escalate the unresolved complaint to the appointed Grievance Officer for BookMyShow, Bigtree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (in 1 day)
  • Level 4: Lodge the grievance to the Nodal Officer, BookMyShow. (in 1 day)

Please note: If your complaints are not resolved to your satisfaction by BookMyShow, you have the option to file a consumer complaint with the National Consumer Helpline, under the Department of Consumer Affairs (MoCA), or approach the Consumer Commission (Forum) to seek compensation.


Level 1: Customer Care, BookMyShow

At this stage, you have the option to resolve your concerns by contacting BookMyShow’s customer service team. Call the customer care (toll-free number) or send an email to report your complaints.

Additionally, for a faster resolution, you can file your complaint online through chat or an online form. When registering your concerns, provide essential details such as:

  • BookMyShow Booking ID
  • Specify the nature of the complaint,
  • Describe the issue comprehensively
  • Attach relevant documents such as images of tickets, bills, or any supporting evidence.

Level 2: Head of Customer Service

If your submitted complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction within 3 days by Customer Service Executives within 3 days at level 1 then you should escalate the open case to Head of Customer Service (CS) of the BookMyShow.

With the ticket number of previous unresolved complaints, email to CS Head at escalations@bookmyshow.com or call to +912261445050.

Level 3: Grievance Officer, BookMyShow

As per the E-Commerce Rules 2020, Bigtree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. has appointed a Grievance Officer for BookMyShow. If your previously lodged complaint at level 2 is not resolved within 2 days then you may escalate the disputed matter to the Grievance Officer.

Required details in your written grievance letter or email:

  • Reference/ticket number of the previous complaint
  • Booking ID
  • Reason for dissatisfaction and expected relief
  • Description of the disputed matter with supporting documents

Level 4: Nodal Officer, BookMyShow

According to the IT (Information Technology) Act 2000.  if you are not satisfied with the Grievance Officer of BookMyShow or the matter is not resolved within a given period (2 days), escalate the grievance to the appointed Nodal Officer.

Still, not resolved to your satisfaction by BookMyShow?

If you are dissatisfied with the final response of BookMyShow, then file an informal consumer complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH) for arbitration. Additionally, you may choose internal arbitration with Bigtree Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. to resolve the dispute internally.

Alternatively, you have the option to file a formal complaint against BookMyShow or its theatre partners with the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) – Consumer Court/Forum to demand compensation for the loss.
