PG&E has only gotten worse and more corrupt in the 35 years I’ve lived here. In the two months I’ve been at my new place, power has gone out 6 times. The average time it takes them to restore power, around 5 hours. Half of my work is from home, and I need power. They are in bed with the governor (cough French Laundry cough) and the CPUC is run by the governor. They’ve got a lot of blood on their hands, from gas explosions to all the fires. Yet we bail them out and then the governor says they can charge us more for all the wildfire damage. But we get worse and worse service and pay more and more. Other states don’t have this issue, California does. The taxpayers deserve more options for power companies that promote competition and ensure the taxpayers get quality service. Over 200 years ago we rebelled for less, yet now we have elites that dictate our lives and get special treatment.
