limited options for resolutions

Language:

My device broke and I got a new device. I got everything set up on the new device except for moving phone service over to the new device. They wanted to send me a one-time verification code to my broken device but I obviously could not receive it. I asked if they could do a one-time verification code via email instead (all other places offer two ways to do verification) but they don’t have that option. They kept telling me it’s either a text or a visit to a store but I live 3 hours away from the closest T-Mobile store and we are in the middle of a winter storm and the roads have been closed for 2 days! Who doesn’t have a second way to do verification??? They refused to help me out so I told them I wanted to cancel my T-Mobile service and go with another company but they said that required a visit to a store as well. But they sure had no problem setting up my T-Mobile service remotely!
